Social Action
It is a tradition among all dormitories of the KHG student union that the newcomers, as organizers, organize a social event once a year with the help of the other residents. What this looks like, however, can be chosen completely freely.
The dormitory tries to collect donations or offer help in various ways for charitable causes. The support of the Catholic university community is certain. Be it with the provision of event rooms to kitchen and bar equipment for the care of the guests.
In recent years, very creative campaigns have come about. On the one hand, a public viewing was organized together with the Hermannstraße dormitory for the World Cup, at which money was provided through drinks and donations, a public viewing in the garden included a projector and screen, and drinks were offered. The entire profit from the drinks bar was donated to WABE e.V. .
One concert was organized for two years in a row. The internationally renowned pianist Valentina Lisitsa (YouTubeOne concert was organized for two years in a row. The internationally renowned pianist Valentina Lisitsa Cafe Zuflucht in Aachen. At the second concert, two roommates performed with their jazz band or their string quartet from the Cologne Music Academy for Music and Dance and took the visitors on a varied musical journey through classical music and jazz. Here, one was not only dependent on the money from the entrance fees but had also been able to win over the Sparkasse Aachen as a generous donor. All proceeds were donated to a children's home in Aachen.
Working together is what sets us apart, and even if there are sometimes strenuous phases, a positive result is a lasting memory that strengthens the cohesion within the dormitory. The creativity and commitment of each individual are in demand and welcome.
